A collaborative group of Austin leaders are coming together to launch a chapter that educates the marketplace on business growth and transition

AUSTIN, TX, April 04, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — The Exit Planning Institute in cooperation with a collaborative team of top advisors and leaders from the Austin marketplace, are joining forces to launch the Exit Planning Institute Austin Chapter on May 10, 2023 hosted at The University of Texas Club, DKR Texas Memorial Stadium, 2108 Robert Dedman, Austin, TX 78712. This local chapter is different than many other networking professional organizations in the market. The EPI Chapter is cross-functional, meaning it attracts and engages advisors, experts, thought leaders, media, and business owners from diverse backgrounds. These leaders engage in exit planning and value acceleration education that ensures the continuity of the local marketplace and improves the success rates for transitioning businesses as owners look towards their future.

As evident in the vast amount of recent research studies, including the State of Owner Readiness™ Survey, the U.S. landscape is set to transition six million businesses over the next 5-10 years. Baby boomer business owners are reaching retirement at a rapid rate, and these same owners own 66% of all companies in the United States of America. According to recent research conducted by EPI, most baby boomer owners have not accounted for their ultimate exit transition. Statistics show that only two out of ten businesses on the market sell. Without proper planning, owners run the risk of getting a lower price for their business than they need, or even worse, they fail to sell at all.

“Most business owners pour their lives into their business. Studies show only 20-30% of businesses actually sell, and 4 out of 5 of those have serious regrets later. That means only about 4% of businessowners actually get what they want.

Anytime a business owner is making an important decision, you want to surround yourself with experts who are going to help you see what is truly possible, and will challenge and support you. Helping business owners grow, groom, and capture the value of their life’s work, and exit without regrets and in the way they want is our mission.

Our chapter is led by experts and is for business owners and advisors to understand what helps business owners make and get the most of their business both now and at the time of exiting. We help both on the journey and in the event.”

– Joe Calao, CIMA, CRPC, CRPS, CEPA President, Austin Chapter
