High school basketball player doesn’t let traumatic brain injury stop him from playing.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, March 07, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Cohen Ritter, a basketball player for Bethany High School, did not let a traumatic brain injury stop him. Watch this video to see how Bethany Children’s Health Center played a role in his miraculous comeback on two separate occasions.

The freshman made some clutch baskets in his return game and even attempted a drive to the basket with his non-dominant right arm.

Cohen had a catastrophic brain injury when he was a toddler. He was an inpatient at Bethany Children’s for a month, during which time he regained the ability to walk and speak.

Cohen requested follow-up treatment at Bethany Children’s Outpatient Therapy when he started having seizures again in his teenage years. Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy helped him strengthen his right side, and now he is back on track with sports and life.
