Doing good never looked so great!

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, February 27, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — The annual campaign that transforms patients’ whiter smiles into brighter children’s smiles has reached an astonishing milestone. Entering its 27th year, Smiles for Life has raised more than $50 million for children’s and other charities worldwide, and looks to build upon that in 2024.

At its root, Smiles for Life simply is dentistry doing good. Patients looking to simultaneously whiten their smiles and donate to charity can participate in The Crown Council’s 27th annual Smiles for Life Campaign between March 1 and June 30. As the charitable arm of The Crown Council – a group of leading dentists around the world – Smiles for Life is dentistry’s most successful charity. Funds raised by Smiles for Life benefit children’s health in local, national and international communities.

The Smiles for Life Campaign unites dentists, patients and dental manufacturers to benefit local and global children’s health. When someone schedules a teeth whitening treatment with a Crown Council dentist office nationwide between March 1 and June 30, or a teeth straightening treatment anytime, the member dentist generously donates his or her time and expertise.

One hundred percent of the teeth whitening materials are generously donated by longstanding strategic partner Ultradent Products, Inc., maker of Opalescence tooth whitening systems. As a result of this donation, the entire cost of each teeth whitening goes directly to the Smiles for Life Foundation. Fifty percent of the proceeds benefit seriously ill, disabled and underprivileged children around the world via Smiles for Life. The remaining 50 percent stays in each member dentist’s local community, as dentists select their beneficiary charity of choice.

For patients wanting a straighter smile, Smiles for Life partners with Tréz clear aligners. For each Tréz clear aligner treatment, a portion of the cost will be donated directly to the Smiles for Life Foundation.

“We are proud to have created a campaign that to date has raised more than $50 million, all of which has gone directly to children’s and other charities,” said Greg Anderson, director of the Crown Council. “The Crown Council is pleased to offer this unique opportunity to improve patients’ smiles and make much-needed contributions to increase children’s access to better oral care around the United States and globally. With the dedication of our partners, member dentists and patients, the Smiles for Life Foundation has made – and continues to make – a tremendous impact.”

Since its inception, Smiles for Life dentists have supported more than 600 local children’s charities. The Smiles for Life Foundation supports national and international oral health and other programs benefiting economically-disadvantaged children across the world, including the Dominican Republic, Nepal, Bolivia, and Guatemala. Smiles for Life also maintains a strong longtime partnership with the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation which supports Child Life Zones in Children’s Hospitals across the United States.
