MUMBAI: The Government Railway Police (GRP) acted the hero of a female worker who had accidentally left behind her handbag, containing jwellery and money, on a local train on Friday.
Shabana Shaikh, 25, the complainant, lives in Malad. She took a Virar-bound local from Dadar station on Friday evening. Around 7 pm, she landed at Malad station. Later, she realized that her purse was still in the women compartment. However, the train had effectively left Malad station. Shaikh then drew nearer the station master who informed the Borivali GRP.
“Three cops boarded the train at Borivali and chased for the satchel. It was found with its substance — 5gm gold ornaments worth Rs 15,000 and Rs 1,800 in real money — in place.
The satchel was come back to Shaikh in the wake of affirming that it was hers,” said a GRP official
